Dear Orthopedic Spine and Sports Therapy Family and Friends,
Orthopedic Spine and Sports Therapy is deemed an “essential worker” following the March 16, 2020 statement issued by the President of the United States, and the March 23, 2020 Executive Order 2020 – 21 (COVID-19) issued by the Michigan Governor, Gretchen Whitmer.
In accordance with this mandate, and in collaboration with other federal agencies and following the initial list CISA developed of “Essential Critical Infrastructure Workers”, OSST is by nature of their work included in the classification of: Caregivers (e.g., physicians, dentists, psychologists, mid-level practitioners, nurses and assistants, infection control and quality assurance personnel, pharmacists, physical and occupational therapists and assistants, social workers, speech pathologists and diagnostic and therapeutic technicians and technologists)
As the cases of coronavirus increase throughout our state we would like to update you on the measures we are taking to keep you, our patients, and our staff safe and healthy. Hygiene and social distancing are the most important factors in mitigating the effect and spread of this virus
OSST is screening each staff member and patient that comes into the clinic.
Staff and therapists are washing their hands, as per CDC guidelines, after coming in contact with any patient.
We continue to double our disinfecting and deep cleaning regimen throughout the entire clinic with additional frequent disinfecting of high traffic areas; i.e. door knobs, chairs, etc.
We are using bleach-containing products to disinfect each treatment table and all exercise equipment after each use.
We are holding daily meetings with therapists and staff to review and implement any new recommendations by the CDC or state government.
We have rearranged our treatment tables so that there is ample distance between patients. You will not be within 10 feet of anyone other than your therapist while being treated
We will have fewer than 10 people in the clinic at any given time.
Staff and therapists are instructed to stay home if they have any cold or flu symptoms at all, possibly necessitating schedule changes. We know this is of utmost importance, and we appreciate your understanding and cooperation in this particular matter.
Please help us by exercising the same level of safety for our staff and other patients by canceling or rescheduling your appointment, if you have any cold or flu symptoms.
We will get through this as a community if we are all willing to make small sacrifices and think of others’ safety and well-being.
We are confident that with these measures in place, and with your cooperation with our requests, we can safely continue to treat you and help you continue to recuperate from your injury, surgery, or physical limitation.
Your health and safety are our top priority at OSST. We look forward to seeing you soon!
