Effective Spinal Manual Therapy and Treatment
Our application of treatment is directly associated and consistent with the evaluation. The treatment provided is based on relieving irritation, restoring motion, and/or training an area that has a pathological dysfunction. We perform techniques that are specific to a segment of the spine through manual stabilization or the movement of the spine to “lock” or inhibit motion in one area. With the application of more specific techniques, we are able to be more effective to the area we are treating. We do not agree with treatments that use large rotational mobilizations for a short term effect and only use manual mobilizations in a linear force into a desired direction that is given in very short amplitudes. This application only displaces tight spinal segments back to neutral while leaving little stress on ligaments and neural tissue. Given the inherent safety of the techniques, we feel that slow velocity and high-velocity mobilizations are an effective means to treat a pathomechanical dysfunction. We have an opportunity to offer a variety of advanced manual skills and provide the highest quality of orthopedic rehabilitation services to our patients.
