One of the main goals of the research was to determine whether the program was financially feasible. For his research, Shane was awarded the ‘Research Excellence’ award from Oakland University’s Physical Therapy program. Additionally, Shane has presented his research for APTA Michigan.
Experience
Shane’s passion for physical therapy began in high school when he took his first anatomy course, sparking a deep interest in human movement, pathology, and rehabilitation. While pursuing his doctorate, Shane gained valuable hands-on experience through multiple clinical internships in areas such as inpatient rehabilitation, outpatient orthopedics, and sports medicine.
With an athletic background that includes football, baseball, tennis, hockey, and wrestling, Shane has a comprehensive understanding of the physical demands and injuries common in athletic populations and how to guide an athlete to return to their sport. Shane is committed to enhancing his clinical reasoning and skills by pursuing advanced training to specialize in working with overhead athletes.
